The Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Standard 50 User CAL Pack licenses fifty named users to connect to your SQL Server 2017 Standard instances from any device. SQL Server 2017 was a pivotal release — the first version to run natively on Linux — and introduced graph database capabilities, adaptive query processing, and automatic database tuning.
User CALs are assigned to individuals, not machines. Each licensed user can access SQL Server from desktops, laptops, tablets, or remote sessions without additional licensing. This per-person model is most economical when your team members use multiple devices.
SQL Server 2017 Standard introduced several breakthrough features. Adaptive query processing automatically adjusts execution strategies based on actual runtime statistics. Automatic tuning monitors query plans, detects regressions, and automatically reverts to the last known good plan without human intervention.
Graph database support adds native graph processing to the relational engine. You can model complex relationships using node and edge tables with graph-specific T-SQL syntax. Resumable online index rebuilds let you pause and resume index maintenance operations.
